Edinburgh hostel

As Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland you would expect it to offer accommodation for all types of people and budgets and you would be right. With the city hosting the world famous Edinburgh Festival and being well known for their New Year party, Edinburgh is a city designed to welcome travellers and its hostels offer a cheap and convenient place to stay.

Before I moved to the city, I stayed at the Caledonian Backpackers Hostel for a stag weekend and with its West-End location, situated between Haymarket Station and Princes Street , it offers everything you could want from Edinburgh on its doorstep.

When we were staying there was a live band playing within the hostel which was a great way to get a few drinks and have fun before even leaving the hostel and it definitely felt the place was geared for its users benefit as opposed to just a money making operation.

The kitchen facilities were spacious which easily allows a large group to congregate and set their plans for the rest of the day or laugh off the events of the night before. It was clean and had all the utensils and equipment you would need to fend for yourself but as it is situated so close to the hub of Edinburgh , its easy enough to eat out at all times, with Subways and McDonalds within easy walking distance, even with a hangover!
